Her Blue Sky

High school student Aoi Aioi lives with her elder sister, Akane, after a tragic accident took their parents away 13 years ago. Because Akane has since been taking care of her single-handedly, Aoi wants to move to Tokyo after her graduation to relieve her sister's burden and pursue a musical career, inspired by Akane's ex-boyfriend Shinnosuke "Shinno" Kanamuro. Shinno was part of a band until he left for Tokyo to become a professional guitarist after the sisters' parents passed away, and he was never to be seen again.

Before you choose

What kind of time-travel story is this?

Time travel is an important premise, with limited sustained exploration.

Meets the archive’s time-travel criteria. The mechanism is classified as Enchanted.

Why the archive makes this assessment (spoilers)

Thirteen years after Shinnosuke left town, his eighteen-year-old self, Shinno, appears in the storeroom where he used to practise, a living spirit out of the past who exists alongside his disillusioned adult self. Shinno's presence drives the relationships: Aoi falls for the boy her sister once loved, and his disappointment in who he became confronts the adult Shinnosuke and Akane with their old promise. The displaced past self is the film's central premise, but the film explores it emotionally rather than temporally: there is no travel between times, no change to the past and only a vague explanation of how he exists, so it stays at 6.

A living spirit of Shinno's eighteen-year-old self appears thirteen years later alongside his adult self.

How Titan works

Titan combines the archive’s quality, audience and legacy base with the significance of time travel. It is an index, not a score out of 100, and is distinct from the FMV archive’s scoring model.

Titan = base × [0.20 + 0.80 × (time-travel score ÷ 10)²]

This film: 79.17 base × 48.8% weighting.

Partial inputs flag incomplete source metadata. Provisional weighting flags a time-travel assessment that remains uncertain; it receives no additional confidence penalty.
