Before you choose

What kind of time-travel story is this?

Time travel is an important premise, with limited sustained exploration.

A borderline case: the temporal interpretation remains disputed. The mechanism is classified as Unknown.

Why the archive makes this assessment (spoilers)

Two documentary makers infiltrate a basement cult led by Maggie, who says she has come back from 2054 to prepare a chosen few for the war and famine ahead. Whether she is really from the future is the question the whole film turns on, and the final scene, where a young girl she has asked to meet greets her with the cult's secret handshake, hints that her claim may be true. The claimed future origin is the central premise, but the film never shows travel, a future or any temporal consequence, and its makers deliberately leave the answer open, so it stays at 5.

Maggie claims to come from the future, but the filmmakers deliberately allow conflicting interpretations; literal time travel remains unconfirmed.

How Titan works

Titan combines the archive’s quality, audience and legacy base with the significance of time travel. It is an index, not a score out of 100, and is distinct from the FMV archive’s scoring model.

Titan = base × [0.20 + 0.80 × (time-travel score ÷ 10)²]

This film: 83.08 base × 40.0% weighting.

Partial inputs flag incomplete source metadata. Provisional weighting flags a time-travel assessment that remains uncertain; it receives no additional confidence penalty.
