Before you choose

What kind of time-travel story is this?

Time travel drives much of the story.

A borderline case: the temporal interpretation remains disputed. The mechanism is classified as Unknown.

Why the archive makes this assessment (spoilers)

Reaching into the moat at the Medieval World theme park for a gold medallion, Jamal is pulled under and emerges in England in 1328. Almost the whole film is his stay there: he is mistaken for a messenger from Normandy, falls for the servant Victoria and is drawn into the rebellion to restore the rightful queen, with the comedy built on his modern know-how in a medieval court. The displacement drives the story, like The Visitors or Kate & Leopold. It stays at 7 because it is a single fish-out-of-water trip with no temporal mechanics, paradoxes or consequences, and his rescue awakening in the park suggests a dream before a final gag sends him to ancient Rome.

The medieval adventure ends with awakening after the near-drowning; a dream reading conflicts with the film’s time-travel framing.

How Titan works

Titan combines the archive’s quality, audience and legacy base with the significance of time travel. It is an index, not a score out of 100, and is distinct from the FMV archive’s scoring model.

Titan = base × [0.20 + 0.80 × (time-travel score ÷ 10)²]

This film: 75.65 base × 59.2% weighting.

Partial inputs flag incomplete source metadata. Provisional weighting flags a time-travel assessment that remains uncertain; it receives no additional confidence penalty.
