Chronesthesia

A romcom with a time-travel twist. Daniel Duncombe is not a committer. When he’s not working at a café or running to stay in shape, he’s perfectly happy to chill at home. Then he starts waking up from weird dreams to find cryptic messages scrawled on his bedroom window. Slowly it dawns on Daniel that the same mysterious force is guiding him into contact with a strange assortment of equally unattached strangers who intrude on his routine.

Before you choose

What kind of time-travel story is this?

Time travel is an important premise, with limited sustained exploration. This assessment is provisional.

A borderline case: the temporal interpretation remains disputed. The mechanism is classified as Unknown.

Why the archive makes this assessment (spoilers)

Retain provisional 5/10. Barista Dan finds messages on his window that steer him into strangers' romances, and festival notes call it a romcom with a time-travel twist and 'time travel of the mind'. The Austin Chronicle says the film does not reveal what is happening until the very end, so the literal mechanism remains uncertain.

Synopsis and filmmaker interview describe a time-travel twist and mysterious messages, but the consulted evidence does not establish the actual temporal mechanism or distinguish it from metaphor.

How Titan works

Titan combines the archive’s quality, audience and legacy base with the significance of time travel. It is an index, not a score out of 100, and is distinct from the FMV archive’s scoring model.

Titan = base × [0.20 + 0.80 × (time-travel score ÷ 10)²]

This film: 34.26 base × 40.0% weighting.

Partial inputs flag incomplete source metadata. Provisional weighting flags a time-travel assessment that remains uncertain; it receives no additional confidence penalty.
