Why the archive makes this assessment (spoilers)
The woman who reappears with no memory in the rainy season, a year after Mio's death, is revealed through her diary to be Mio's younger self visiting her family's future. The six weeks she spends with Takumi and Yuji, which fill most of the film, are therefore the time travel, and the final act shows her returning to her own time and choosing that short life knowing how it ends. The premise underlies the whole story, but it is concealed as a ghost-style return until the reveal and the film never explores how it works, so it stops short of 8.

How Titan works
Titan combines the archive’s quality, audience and legacy base with the significance of time travel. It is an index, not a score out of 100, and is distinct from the FMV archive’s scoring model.
Titan = base × [0.20 + 0.80 × (time-travel score ÷ 10)²]
This film: 97.27 base × 59.2% weighting. Letterboxd counts and available averages supplied by the user on 2026-10-19.
Partial inputs flag incomplete source metadata. Provisional weighting flags a time-travel assessment that remains uncertain; it receives no additional confidence penalty.
